Rangerettes
Currently there are 61 dancers and 5 managers in the 2010-11 Rangerettes. The benefits of being a Rangerette is that the girls learn discipline, dedication, and pride/confidence through the art of dance. They learn the value of hard work and perseverance. Also, it goes without saying that Rangerettes exercise a lot, and therefore, they are strong and flexible.
The following are the major awards and accolades obtained by the Rangerettes and officers:
The varsity Rangerettes are the highest scoring team in the district among all schools (not just high schools), and the Rangerette Officers are the highest scoring officer line in the district. The Rangerettes have been hip hop and jazz champions for numerous years in a row. Other awards have included: Outstanding Choreography, Outstanding Technique, Outstanding Showmanship, Outstanding Presentation, Judges Award Officer Novelty, Judges Award Team Hip Hop, Staff Award for Discipline, Staff Award for Spirit, Staff Award for Attitude. Numerous solo finalists have also been from Rangerettes.
The competitions that the Rangerettes participate in each year vary from year to year.
Up to 4 seniors may receive a scholarship from the Rangerette Boosters.
What are the Rangerettes responsibilities? To know all choreography, and be able to execute all choreography. Arrive to practice and events on time and be ready to work and focus.

What are the costs involved typically, if any? The cost of being a RIT is approximately $400 out of pocket, plus fundraising is $140 for the year. The cost of being a varsity Rangerette is approximately $800 out of pocket, plus fundraising is an additional $300-$350 per semester.
The Rangerettes Annual Show will be held at Pershing Middle School Auditorium on Saturday, May 12 beginning at 7:oo p.m. due to construction taking place in the Ned S. Holmes Performance Hall. The cost of the tickets is $8.
Tickets may be purchased online with a credit card. You may choose to purchase your tickets online by credit card. All other seats must be purchased in the lobby between 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. with cash only, no credit cards, no checks. The house opens at 6:30 p.m. and there will be no one seated after the performance begins. So, be on time or be early. And remember - it's NOT at Lamar High School - It's at Pershing Middle School on Stella Link, south of Bellaire Blvd.
